Heralds of Spring
Heralds of Spring – Beginning of a new cycle
Spring – the first warm days, sun is shining through leaf-less beech forests and heats the ground. Snow has melted and the days are getting longer again. And everywhere they appear: the first heralds of spring. Colorful spots of yellow, purple and white. Among the first, liverleafs grow extensively between the old leaves. On the dry limestone meadows of Franconia, the Common Pasque Flowers strech their cups towards the sun. And in the moist alluvial forests thimbleweeds grow over and over the ground. I like this time of the year very much.
